This wine is dark and serious, a worthy tribute to the Pope Valley land grant it's named after.
Aromas of cool herbs, ripe black currant, and a subtle meatiness, the palate is plush and supple reminiscent of juicy black plums, chocolate cola and vanilla, the finish is long and persistent with fine tannins and cool menthol. It is a keeper and will reward the patient over the next 15 years.
